Discover your innate self-healing abilities through the power of the breath.

In this workshop you will learn the dynamics of breathing, connect breath with movement in a mindful Hatha Vinyasa yoga flow, then experience a 30-minute breath sequence designed to calm the mind and soothe the nervous system.

Part 1. The dynamics of breathing

Through exploration and demonstration of various breathing techniques, students will discover the importance of pranayama (breathwork), learn about the muscles we use to breathe (breath anatomy) and realise the powerful benefits of Kumbhaka (breath retention).

Part 2. Hatha Vinyasa yoga flow

A mindful yoga practice with adjustments provided for all levels. This section of the workshop will open and relax the body to enable you to fully experience the breath sequence.

Part 3. The Breath Sequence

A series of slow deep breathing exercises incorporating mild to moderate breath holds, which are proven to stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system and move you into a state of calm and relaxation.
