SOMATIC BREATH: Inner Child

A Trauma-Informed Breathwork Experience

There is a younger version of you still present in your nervous system — the child who learned what love had to look like, what safety required, what needed to be hidden away in order to belong.

That child didn't disappear. They became the part of you that overreacts to small things, that struggles to receive love or ask for help, that feels too much or shuts down entirely when life gets hard. They are not a flaw to be fixed. They are a part of you that has been waiting — patiently, quietly — to be met.

This session offers exactly that meeting, using one of the most direct tools available for reaching it: the breath.

Why breathwork works for inner child healing

Talking about childhood can only take us so far, because so much of what happened wasn't stored as language — it was stored in the body, beneath conscious memory, in patterns of protection that formed before we had words for what we needed.

Breathwork reaches that layer directly.

Somatic Release
The body holds onto unprocessed emotion long after an event has passed. Continuous, conscious breathing loosens this stored tension, allowing feelings like anger, grief, or fear — emotions the inner child was never given safe space to express — to surface naturally and pass through the body, rather than staying lodged within it.

Shifting Brainwaves
By consciously altering the depth and speed of the breath, the practice slows the conscious "thinking brain" and activates the emotional limbic system — the part of the brain where childhood memory and emotional experience actually live. This is what allows buried memories and their root causes to be gently uncovered, rather than simply intellectualised.

Nervous System Regulation
Deep, rhythmic breathing stimulates the vagus nerve, calming the adult nervous system into a genuine state of safety. It is only from this regulated, grounded place that your inner child can feel safe enough to be seen, heard, and finally met with the care they needed.

What the session offers

Held in a trauma-informed, carefully paced container, this session guides you through breathwork designed to access, meet, and begin reparenting your younger self — creating the physical and emotional safety that allows old wounds to soften and begin to heal. You remain in full choice throughout; nothing is forced, and all emotions that arise are welcomed without judgement.

This is for you if:

  • You notice patterns — in relationships, self-worth, or emotional reactivity — that feel older than your adult life

  • You've done cognitive or talk-based work and feel there's a layer beneath it still waiting to be reached

  • You struggle to receive love, rest, or care, and sense it traces back further than the present

  • You are ready to meet your younger self with compassion, rather than continuing to carry what they couldn't put down

  • You want a guided, safely held space to do this work — not alone, and not without support

A note on safety: This is deep, trauma-informed work and is held with full care and sensitivity throughout. Please review the contraindications on the booking page before reserving your place, and reach out in advance if you have any questions about whether this session is right for you.
