Yin & Sound by Candlelight

There is a depth of relaxation that the body is capable of — a genuine, cellular-level unwinding — that most of us have genuinely never experienced.

Not the relaxation of a long bath or an early night. Something deeper than that. The kind that releases what has been held in the connective tissue for months. That quiets the nervous system at a level below conscious thought. That leaves you feeling, at the end of an evening, as though something fundamental has shifted — as though you are, in some way that is difficult to name but unmistakable to feel, more at ease in yourself than you were when you arrived.

Yin Yoga and Sound Healing each offer a path toward that depth. Together, by candlelight, they take you there.

The container — Candlelight

Before the first posture is taken or the first note is played, the room itself is doing something.

Candlelight signals to the nervous system at a level below conscious thought — not as aesthetics, but as information. That this is not a task to complete. Not a class to get through. That this time has been set apart, held in something closer to ceremony than routine. In that container, the body begins to soften before the practice has even begun. And everything that follows lands more deeply because of it.

The practice — Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga works with the body's deeper layers: the fascia, the connective tissue, the joints, the energetic pathways that run through the body and, when blocked, create the stiffness, restriction, and low-level discomfort that many of us have learned to simply live around.

Postures are held passively, with full prop support, for extended periods — minutes rather than seconds. In that sustained, supported stillness, the fascia begins to respond in a way that active stretching never reaches. Blockages that have been held for months begin to release. Flexibility increases not through force but through time and trust. And beneath the physical release, something energetic begins to move as well.

Natalie guides you through the sequence with warmth, precision, and unhurried attention — meeting you exactly where you are, the candlelight holding the space between each posture in a quality of stillness that a lit studio simply cannot replicate.

By the time the Yin sequence draws to a close, the body is deeply open, the nervous system is beginning to down-regulate, and the inner stillness that has been cultivated is exactly the receptivity that sound healing needs to do its deepest work.

The sound — Live Sound Healing

From the Yin, without effort or transition, the sound begins.

You remain lying down, fully supported and comfortable, as live sound healing fills the candlelit space around you. Resonant instruments — chosen and played with the specific intention of harmonising the mind and deepening the body's relaxation — create a sonic landscape that moves through the room and through you. Not merely heard, but physically felt as vibration resonates in the tissue and the nervous system responds.

Sound healing works at a level that bypasses the thinking mind. It doesn't ask anything of you. It simply meets the body in its open, receptive post-Yin state and carries it further — into a meditative depth, a stillness of mind, a quality of inner quiet that most people describe as unlike anything they access in ordinary life.

The pairing of Yin and sound is physiological as much as it is experiential. The Yin opens the physical and energetic body. The sound meets that openness and deepens it into something profound. Each practice prepares the ground for the other. And the candlelight holds it all — from the first posture to the last note — in a warmth and an intention that makes the whole greater than the sum of its parts.

What you'll leave with:

  • Fascia and connective tissue released from tension that has been accumulating for months

  • A nervous system that has been genuinely, deeply regulated — not temporarily calmed

  • Improved flexibility and a body that moves with noticeably more ease and freedom

  • A quality of mental stillness and inner balance that the pace of daily life rarely allows

  • The particular restoration that comes when ancient wisdom, live sound, and a ceremonial container work together

  • An evening that has given your body and mind exactly what they needed — and that you will feel for days afterwards

This experience is for you if:

  • You carry chronic tension, stiffness, or restriction in the body and want something that genuinely reaches it

  • You are drawn to deep, introspective practice held in a beautiful, ceremonial setting

  • You want to experience Yin Yoga and sound healing together for the first time — or to go deeper into a practice you already love

  • You need an evening that truly restores rather than simply relaxes

  • You are ready to discover what your body is capable of releasing when it is given the time, the space, and the right conditions to let go

All levels welcome. No prior experience of Yin Yoga or sound healing required. Props provided throughout.
