There is a particular exhaustion that comes from living against your own nature. From pushing through the low-energy days instead of honouring them. From treating every season of the year — and every season of your life — as though it demands the same output.
Ayurveda doesn't ask you to push harder. It asks you to pay attention. At the heart of Ayurvedic wisdom is an understanding that has been largely lost in modern life: that we are not machines designed for consistent output, but living, cyclical systems whose vitality depends on alignment.
What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda — from the Sanskrit meaning the science or wisdom of life — is one of the world's oldest systems of natural medicine, originating in ancient India. At its heart is a single, profound understanding: that human beings are one with nature. That the same elements that make up the universe — air, water, earth, space, and fire — make up us. Central to this is the concept of the three doshas — Vata, Pitta, and Kapha — each a distinct combination of the five great elements, expressing itself differently in the body, the mind, and the personality.
Before attending, Natalie recommends spending some time reading about the three doshas and completing a dosha quiz online. Links to both are provided at the point of booking.
Hour One — Teaching & Conversation
The Rhythm of the Day: why Ayurveda maps the day into distinct energetic phases and how to begin structuring your day around them.
The Rhythm of the Seasons: why Ayurveda recommends moving with the changing seasons to keep the body and mind system balanced, and how to support your seasonal transition from summer into Autumn.
Inner Seasons & the Menstrual Cycle: what our inner seasons are, how they relate to the different phases of the menstrual cycle, and how to live in better alignment with your cycle to balance hormones and lifestyle — even after menopause.
Circadian Rhythms: how circadian rhythms influence our energy and mood, and how to optimise these different energies to create more balance in daily life.
Hour Two — Yoga, Meditation & Pranayama
Drawing directly on the cyclical Ayurvedic principles of the first hour, Natalie guides you through a 60-minute practice of yoga, pranayama and meditation — specifically designed to support the body and mind through the seasonal transition from summer into autumn, and attuned to where we are in the seasonal and lunar cycle at the time of the workshop.
