Somatic Experiencing Workshop

Release Fascial Tension. Reset the Nervous System. Come Home to Your Body.

The body is not a vehicle. It is not something to be managed, optimised, or pushed through until it gives out. It is a living, sensing, endlessly intelligent system — one that holds far more information, capacity, and wisdom than most of us have ever been invited to explore.

This workshop is that invitation.

Somatic Experiencing is an approach to the body that begins with one simple but radical premise: that awareness itself is healing. That when we slow down enough to actually listen — to breath, to sensation, to the subtle language the body speaks beneath the noise of daily life — something begins to shift. Tension that has been held releases. Patterns that have been fixed begin to move. And the body, given genuine attention and care, reveals capabilities and a depth of intelligence that are genuinely surprising.

How the workshop unfolds:

Arriving in the Body — Breath & Sensation
We begin not with movement but with stillness — a deliberate, unhurried slowing down that creates the conditions for everything that follows. Guided by the breath, you'll begin to tune into the sensations already present in the body: areas of tension, of ease, of numbness, of aliveness. This is not analysis. It is listening — perhaps for the first time, in this quality of depth.

Most of us arrive in our bodies only when something hurts. This phase of the workshop invites a different relationship: one of curiosity, presence, and genuine interest in what the body is already communicating.

Self-Massage & Fascial Release
From breath and awareness, we move into hands-on self-massage — working directly and intentionally with the fascia, the connective tissue that runs through every layer of the body like a continuous, three-dimensional web.

Fascia holds. It holds posture, pattern, and the accumulated strain of everything the body has moved through — physically and emotionally. When it becomes restricted or dehydrated through stress, repetitive movement, or long periods of stillness, the effects ripple through the entire system: reduced proprioception, joint strain, limited mobility, and a felt sense of being somehow locked inside your own body.

Self-massage releases that holding — not forcefully, but with the intelligent, responsive pressure of your own hands, guided and supported throughout. The results are immediate and often profound: joints that feel freer, breath that moves more easily, a body that feels genuinely inhabited rather than simply occupied.

Guided & Unguided Movement — Exploring New Pathways
From the openness created by the fascial release, we move — and the movement here is unlike most movement you'll have encountered in a wellness setting.

Drawing on both guided and unguided exploration, this phase invites the body to discover new physical pathways and sensations — to move in ways it hasn't moved before, to find the edges of its range with curiosity rather than effort, and to experience the particular pleasure of a body that is genuinely free to explore. There is no choreography to follow, no correct way to do it, and no performance to deliver. There is only the body, moving in response to its own intelligence.

This is where the nervous system begins to truly reset — where new neural pathways are laid down, where the body's proprioception recalibrates, and where the relationship between awareness and movement becomes something genuinely alive.

What you'll leave with:

  • Fascial tension released and a body that feels freer, more open, and more fully inhabited

  • A nervous system that has genuinely reset — not calmed temporarily, but reset

  • Improved proprioception and motor control — a felt sense of being more accurately in your body

  • Reduced strain in the joints and connective tissue

  • A deeper awareness and appreciation of your body and everything it is capable of

  • A new relationship with physical sensation — curious, attentive, and genuinely interested

This workshop is for you if:

  • You carry chronic tension in your body that stretching and exercise don't fully address

  • You feel disconnected from your body or live predominantly in your head

  • You are navigating stress, anxiety, or nervous system dysregulation and want to work with the body directly

  • You are curious about somatic approaches and want a safe, accessible, well-held introduction

  • You want to understand your body more deeply — not just how it moves, but how it communicates, holds, and heals

Suitable for all levels. No prior somatic, movement, or bodywork experience required. This workshop is designed to be fully accessible regardless of age, fitness level, or relationship with your body.
